Local knowledge
Forget the tour codes. Your park ticket already covers every panoramic train and electric boat — so here is the full loop we send our own guests on. Give it six to seven unhurried hours and let the lakes set the pace.
Every leg is covered by your park ticket — around 6–7 hours at an easy pace. Shorten it anywhere you like; St2 is never far.
When to come
Snowmelt sends the waterfalls thundering at full force — the park at its loudest and greenest, before the crowds.
Every route, boat and train running, long warm days for swimming-blue panoramas. Start early and book tickets ahead.
The beech forests turn gold and copper over turquoise water — the photographers' favourite, with misty mornings.
Frozen waterfalls, snow-hushed silence and the cheapest tickets of the year. Usually only the Lower Lakes route is open.

Good to know
Entrance 2 is the quickest way to the Upper Lakes and Lake Kozjak — and it's a 10-minute walk from Villa Mukinja. Entrance 1 sits by the Lower Lakes canyon and the Great Waterfall (Veliki slap), about 5 minutes away by car.
The shorter loops take 2–4 hours; seeing both the Upper and Lower Lakes comfortably takes 4–6 hours. Staying overnight nearby lets you walk in at opening time and split the park over two relaxed days.
In summer, yes — buy online at np-plitvicka-jezera.hr, because time slots sell out. Ticket sales end at 17:00, and entrances are open 07:00–20:00 in high season.
Prices are seasonal: roughly €10 in winter, €23.50 in shoulder season and €40 in the summer peak. The panoramic train and electric boats are included in your ticket.
No — swimming is forbidden everywhere in the park to protect the travertine lakes. The nearest cool-off is our outdoor hot tub, which is admittedly warmer.
Absolutely — the park is open 365 days a year. In winter you'll see frozen waterfalls and snow-quiet forests at the year's lowest ticket price; usually the Lower Lakes route stays open.
Enter before 09:00 — tour buses arrive around 10:00. Sleeping in Mukinje village means you can be at Entrance 2 minutes after breakfast, ahead of the day-trip wave.
Yes, dogs are welcome on a leash throughout the park.
Sleep next to the lakes
